Look What You Did This Week!
Last week I shared 2 of the women you helped through this Substack letter - now I’m sharing more! I had so much fun going into KIVA last week and choosing a group of women to help - all because some of you have been able to become Paid Subscribers.
Here’s the thing though… it takes ALL of you - paid and Free subscribers to create the community of Bregdan Women that makes this possible. THANK YOU!
KIVA is a microloan organization that empowers people all over the world to create businesses, get an education, etc. Over the years, we’ve helped almost 300 women, but I Am A Bregdan Woman is throwing that into overdrive! I love KIVA so much because it loans money and helps women succeed. The women pay back the loan - meaning we can put it back into the cycle by giving it to another woman. It never goes away!
Meet the two newest recipients:

Alice from Uganda
Alice is 29 years old and lives in the town of Kawempe in the central region of Uganda. She is married and has three children who are all currently in school. For the past four years, Alice has been working hard to manage her retail shop, which sells charcoal.
To help expand her business, Alice has requested a loan of 2,500,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more charcoal to sell, and will help Alice to generate greater profits as her production increases and attracts more revenue. This will help her manage to buy food for her family.
Alice hopes that in the future she will be able to further expand her business into a big charcoal stall and begin selling wholesale. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but who have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.

Pozo Del Niño Group - Guatemala
Eulalia, the group’s new leader, runs a general store. She has recently expanded her business to include women’s sweaters, rubber sandals for children, women, and men, as well as catalog sales. She is very happy because she reinvests the profits from each sale in areas where she sees the need for further growth.
Eulalia is currently seeking a loan to invest in the store, as prices have been rising in recent months, and she needs to restock on sugar, soda, rice, beans, corn, and also purchase more women’s sweaters. The other members of the group sell traditional clothing, fruits and vegetables, and tortillas.

Please don’t think this is a request for you to become a Paid Subscriber. I know there are many that simply can’t. I’m giving you EVERYTHING anyway.

I cheer every time I see a paid subscription come through. Seriously… I cheer every time I receive notice of a new paid subscriber. At least once a day I do a happy dance in my office!
Why do I get so excited? Two reasons:
1 - Because I need your help in reaching millions of women around the globe. My goal is at least 5 Million women… women in EVERY country - well every country that has internet.
I constantly think about what a better world we will live in when millions of women understand their POWER to live their lives and make a difference - all from reading stories of amazing women who are doing just that.
It takes a lot of money to reach all these women through emails, social media, and advertising. I give as much as I can from my income as an author, but I need other Bregdan Women to step up and help - just $5 a month will make a huge difference.
I never want a woman to not be able to receive everything I create because of money!
But that’s not all…
2 - 15% of the money will go toward supporting women owned businesses around the world through KIVA or another microloan company. I’ve been supporting women through this organization for years - with your help, we can help even more. I’ll introduce you to the women we’re helping! The ripples through their lives and through their families lives will spread to generations.
