Hello Bregdan Woman,
I’m sharing more of Suess’ poetry with you. If you haven’t “met” her yet, CLICK HERE!
poem #1: a loons moan and poem #2: you
both poems to be read as you stop & remember someone who has passed from this life.
a loons moan
after last night’s rain, sitting on the smooth wooden deck
drinkin' hot orange tea in the cool aftermath of storm
watching:
leaves flutter
moonbeams glisten
flowers open
shadows dance.
as loons mystically moan
that moan mimics my cry
catching in my throat – the tea too dry to quench this thirst
this hope rises in my throat as the loon moans
hoping so much hope bubbles that
peace mercy comfort strength acceptance appear soon —
as i walk thru another
dark valley in life-
after last night’s rain, sitting, drinking hot orange tea in the cool aftermath of storm.

you
warm air brushes my check and i smile at the breeze
for it reminds me
of
you
light
tricky
surprising
easy
kind
i wonder
are you now happy?
are you now at peace?
are you now total?
long, long, long
has it been since
i saw
your face-
heard your laugh-
felt your presence-
long, yes oh yes, far too long.
i wonder if you remember me
i wonder if you miss me
I wonder if you are still you
someday- i hope
again, to be in your presence
again, to eat a meal
share again
until that some day
i allow the warm air to make me smile
as i remember
you

Suess’ poetry always strikes a deep cord within me. These were no exception. I will never stop missing or thinking about the loved ones who are gone. All I can do is live my best life now - believing that one day we’ll be swapping stories again!
I will honor their lives by being a Bregdan Woman!
What will you do to be a Bregdan Woman?
What will you do today to impact history??

The holiday season is always the hardest when thinking about the ones we've lost. My grandmother passed in 2011 and I still get teary eyed every time I hear her favorite Christmas song. My husband lost both of his parents in his 30's, which leaves a big hole in the holiday season for us. These poems are beautiful ❤️ Thanks for sharing!
At 90 I am losing to many, and having to say to them “I love you, and it is OK to leave!” Makes me thankful everyday for each day.
